The Mix Up blanket uses a traditional quilting method called the log cabin technique, which has been adapted into knit and crochet. First, a central rectangle is knitted and then bound off. Stitches are then picked up along one side of the rectangle to start knitting the next rectangle. You continue to work like this, gradually working outwards in different directions until the design of the blanket is complete. We have used all-over garter stitch stripes to create a structured, geometric design.
