This seamless baby cardigan is made top down with integrated neck and button bands. When the knitting is finished just weave in the ends and sew on the buttons.

With a very simple garter neckline that looks quite ornamental, this design was inspired by images in a 1980s pattern book given to me by a lovely friend. Mostly stocking stitch, with a little garter trim along the edges, it has a circular style yoke made with easy yarn over loops to avoid the tightness that often happens when we use other increase techniques. It also has cap sleeves, and a subtle hi-lo curved hem making it perfect for layering over a summer dress or tank top.

The pictured cardigan was made with Sirdar Snuggly Baby Bamboo DK/8ply in the colour Rinky Dinky Pink.

Skill Level Easy… even though it might include a technique you haven’t used before, the pattern contains simple, straightforward instructions and notes on where to look for more information.
