At the end of every Passover holiday, I imagine never wanting to eat a piece of matzah again. And yet, when the holiday arrives again and the table is set, the smells of the Seder fill the air and I look forward to that crumbly first bite. While I wait, I’ll enjoy knowing my matzah is covered by its own cozy cover.

This square is knit flat using a combination of garter, stockinette and reverse stockinette stitches with optional crocheted edges and embroidery. You could choose to create the word with a contrast color by knitting intarsia or by using duplicate stitch.

Pass the charoset and horseradish and enjoy your Hillel sandwich!
