This is nothing but a plain raglan cardigan pattern. No fancy details, no extraordinary design features. Two different kinds of raglan decreases to make an interesting ridge and a well shaped neck, that’s all. But I’d like to think this is THE pattern I will return to whenever I feel the need of another cardigan! And you too, of course :)

The lace weight yarn knit on this gauge creates a fabric which is breezy and light as a feather, yet the firm ribbing on small needles keeps it all together! Using heavier yarn will give you a tighter fabric, the pattern will work as long as you get gauge!

Yarn: approx. 950 (1100) m/1000 (1200) yd of Schachenmayr SMC Fine wool: #0268 brown. Or a substitute yarn with which you will get gauge.

Needles: US 2.5 – 3.0mm for the ribbing and US 7 – 4.5mm needles for the body, or size needed to obtain gauge; tapestry needle; eight 2cm/0.75” buttons.

Gauge: 20 stitches and 26 rows to 10cm/4” on US 7 – 4.5mm needles over stockinette sts.
