This is a highly textured granny square with a vintage feel due to the negative spaces created as you work.

This square should work up to 7.5” square (19.5cm).

The chain spaces are very important in this Granny square, too tightly worked and the square will bunch and lose shape, too loose and the next row will look empty.

One 100g ball of Caron Baby Cakes will make approximately 4 of these squares when using a 5mm hook and my gauge is followed.
