Modified Granny Spike Chevron Blanket
This pattern was inspired by the Granny Ripple pattern and the Granny Spiked my Ripple pattern, but has been modified to create a more rounded look at the color overlaps. It can be used with any yarn as long as you use an appropriately sized hook. I recommend at least 3 colors to get the maximum effect of the spike stitch color change. For the illustrations, I used Big Twist Value Yarn, a regular worsted weight yarn and a size 6.00mm hook.
This pattern is suitable for a confident beginner who has mastered double crochet stitches and chaining. Full color step-by-step photos depicting the spike stitch are included to walk you through the process.
