Modulator 2.
MYSTERY OVERNIGHT THING: Through 10am MDT, get a free draft version of this scarf pattern! I guess it’s not a complete mystery; you know it’s the Modulator 2 patten, and I am going to include some early pictures. But I’m not going to include any hype text past the basics. It is a scarf, a small scarf.. It is similar to Modulator 1 and explores a few of the same ideas to a different effect. You’ll probably need to know brioche, but only the basics.
Anyway, no coupon code necessary! Once this limited promotion has ended, the pattern will be available for a small fee, which supports this design and future ones like it. Enjoy!
Materials:
- 26g/121yds MC and 54/252yds CC;; about 80g/373yds total. Sample shown in Hedgehog Fibres Oh So Fine in colorways Cinder (MC) and UFO (CC)
- 1 40”+ circular needle in US 3-5/3.25-3.75mm, or size needed for gauge, used to work flat
- tapestry needle for weaving in ends
- optional: a spare long circular needle 1-2 sizes smaller than your working needle—it isn’t necessary, but it may make picking up stitches at a tight consistent tension easier.
- optional: removable stitch markers, to help keep track of stitch counts and progress
Gauge:
Foundation triangle gauge is 28 sts and 36 rows over 4”/10cm of garter stitch, worked flat and blocked lightly. The brioche gauge is 14 sts and 32 rows, worked flat in brioche rib and blocked lightly. Please be sure to check your gauge.
Measurements:
As shown, this scarf measures 66”/1.7m long and about 8”/20cm wide at its widest.
