Mon Ami is the toe-up version of Minamo (Japanese for “water surface”), a cuff-down sock pattern with a simple, lacy stitch. Its name is mi-na-mo spelled backward — which happens to read as “mon ami,” French for “my friend.”
The lace pattern is easy to memorize and knits up quickly with a small amount of yarn. Stitch patterns are included in both written and charted form. Video tutorial links are included.

The pattern includes options of;
Toe: standard wedge toe, tabi-toe
Leg design: Minamo Pattern, Combination of Minamo Pattern and Stockinette Stitch
Cuff: twisted ribbing, ruffle

Finished Measurements (Unstretched):
Foot circumference: 16 (17.5, 19, 21) cm/6.5 (7, 7.5, 8.5)”
Corresponds to an actual foot circumference: approx. 21 (22.5, 24, 25.5) cm / 8.5 (9, 9.5, 10.25)”
Foot and leg length: You can knit to your desired length

Recommended ease: 5 cm / 2“ of negative ease at foot circumference, 1.5-2 cm/0.75-1” of negative ease at sock sole length
Note: The sample is shown in size 2 for a 22.5 cm foot circumference.

33 sts & 44-46 rnds = 10 cm / 4” in stockinette stitch

2.0–2.25 mm, 80 cm/32” circular needle: Choose the needle size that gives you the suggested gauge.

Note: The instructions are written for the Magic Loop method using circular needles. You may substitute other types of needles suitable for sock knitting, but the pattern does not include specific guidance for using them. Note that mini-circular needles are not suitable for this pattern.

Mon Amiは、履き口から編む「Minamo -水面-」のトウアップ版です。Minamoを反対側から編む靴下なので、「mi-na-mo」を逆さにしたフランス語の「mon ami -私の友だち-」をパターンの名前にしました。
シンプルなレース模様は覚えやすく、少ない糸量でさくさく編み上がります。模様編みはチャート・文章の両形式で掲載。動画解説リンク付き。

デザインのオプション:
つま先: 定番のつま先、足袋型のつま先
レッグ: レース模様、レース模様とメリヤス編み
カフ: ねじりゴム編み、フリル
