Monkey Ballerina
This PDF crochet pattern walks you through every step of creating your very own amigurumi ballerina monkey, complete with a ruffled tutu and flower beret.
The pattern includes detailed instructions and lots of step-by-step photos. All you need to know are basic crochet stitches, everything else is explained in the pattern.
One PDF file, 25 pages. Pattern is written in English, using US crochet terms.
SIZE
24 cm (9 1/2”) from head to toe, when crocheted with DK weight cotton yarn and a 2.50 mm crochet hook (US size 2/C).
DIFFICULTY
Advanced – includes some less common crochet techniques, small details, color changes and simple shaping.
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Crocheting in spiral
- Crocheting in rounds
- Chain stitch, single, half double and double crochet stitch
- Increasing and decreasing
YOU WILL NEED
- DK / light worsted / # 3 / sport weight yarn. I used Rico ‘Ricorumi DK’, a DK weight 100% cotton yarn, 58 m (68 yd) / 25 g (0.88 oz). You will need about 34 g of brown (# 056), 24 g of cream (# 054), 18 g of green (# 046) and 13 g of pink yarn (# 011).
- 2.50 - 3.00 mm crochet hook (US size 2/C - 3/D).
- Polyester fiberfill, wool, etc. for stuffing.
- 9 mm (3/8”) safety eyes or buttons, beads, felt, etc.
- Dark brown cotton embroidery floss.
- Yarn needle, scissors, stitch marker.
