Monona is a cabled cardigan with plenty of modern appeal. The attractive cable-and-lace pattern adorns both fronts and center back. The elbow-length wide sleeves add to the elegance of this garment.

The body of the cardigan is worked flat in one piece from the bottom to the underarms on a circular needle to accommodate a large number of stitches. The sleeves are worked in the round and then joined with the body to work the raglan yoke.

Notes
• The body is worked flat; sleeves are worked in the round from the bottom up to the yoke, then the pieces are joined for working the raglan yoke.
• On Cable and Front charts, read RS (odd-numbered) chart rows from right to left; read WS (even-numbered) chart rows from left to right.
• The “right” or “left” directions always refer to the wearer’s right or left, rather than the piece in relation to you when knitting.

The stitch pattern is both charted and written.
