Inspired by crisp winter walks beneath clear skies, these mitts capture the magic of moonlight and stars shining over snow-covered trees. I wanted the design to evoke that invigorating feeling of being outdoors in the cold, while knowing warmth and comfort are waiting at home.

The mitts are worked in the round from the cuff upwards, beginning with a variation on traditional corrugated ribbing and a starry border. Separate stranded motifs are then worked across the palm, thumb and back of hand, with the thumb positioned slightly towards the palm to allow the colourwork design to flow smoothly.
