Moonstone Beads and Lace Jewelry
Elegant lacy jewelry full of curves and picots, worked along a string of beads. The pattern notes include instructions on how to string the beads in order to crochet the lace along the sides.
To make the lace more delicate this design uses a 1.25 mm hook and size 20 crochet cotton. Size 20 crochet cotton is the same thickness as 8 wt embroidery cotton, or 4-ply sewing thread worked together. Any of these alternatives can be substituted.
The necklace is designed to sit at the base of the throat, like a collar. The upper side has a narrower design so it fits more comfortably in the curve of the neck. The bracelet uses the wider design on both sides to make a wide cuff. The earrings use a variation on the same pattern to make circular medallions.
Total material requirements are:
- 1.25 mm steel crochet hook
- 88 8 mm round beads
- 4 stitch markers
- 10 yds strong sewing or beading thread
- 60 yds size 20 crochet thread + metallic filament
- Jewelry hardware: 2 lobster clasps, 4 jump rings, 2 earring hooks
Additionally, the yardage required for each piece is listed separately.
