Mosaic knitting is a technique that uses two colors of yarn to create interesting designs, similar to Fair Isle, but you work with only one strand of yarn per row. This eliminates the tensioning problems simetimes associated with stranded knitting.

This hat pattern includes fundamental instructions for the mosaic knitting technique. Both written and charted instructions are included for the stitch pattern. Use two solid colors or one solid and one variegated yarn. Check out my coordinating Basketweave Mosaic Scarf pattern.
