This is an Overlay Mosaic Crochet Pattern

Bring a touch of teatime charm to your kitchen with the Mosaic Teapots Potholders Set. This delightful pair of mosaic crochet potholders features two unique teapot-themed designs. One potholder showcases a tall teapot accented with a heart detail, while the other features a rounded teapot with a teabag draped over the side and delicate tea leaves floating above.

Worked using the overlay mosaic crochet technique, these potholders are both decorative and practical. Whether displayed in your kitchen, gifted to a fellow tea lover, or used to protect your surfaces, they add a cosy handmade touch to any home.

The pattern includes detailed written instructions, charts, and step-by-step guidance to help you create both designs with confidence. Suitable for adventurous beginners and experienced mosaic crocheters alike, this set is an enjoyable project that works up beautifully in any colour combination.

NOTE: The pattern does not teach you how to do mosaic crochet, but I included a resource page in the pattern file with links to all the tutorials that I found helpful.

The pattern file includes the option to use the negative stitch which is what I used in order to create a reversible project.

The file also includes the option to not use the technique i.e you will have the flaps on the back of your work as is normally the case with mosaic crochet.

This pattern uses the Chain Start Envelope Border method which eliminates the need for the slip stitch round prior to starting to the border.

Here are all the design details:

Project Size: (25 cm x 21 cm / 10 in x 8 in)

Yarn Used: Light DK (WPI 11) - 100% Cotton

Yarn Usage:
You will need about 200m in total PER potholder

Potholder 1
Col A - 90m (99 yds)
Col B - 105 m (115 yds)

Potholder 2
Col A - 83m (91 yds)
Col B - 115 m (126 yds)

Hook Size: 3.0 mm for mosaic crochet and 2.5 mm for the border

Stitches Used: US Terminology - Chain, Single Crochet, Half Double Crochet (used in the border) and Double Crochet (Drop Down Dc)

Extra Materials Needed: scissors and stitchmarkers

Note that using a thicker yarn and larger hook will result in a bigger project. Similarly, using a thinner yarn and a smaller hook will result in a smaller project.
