Construction, style, & variations

The Mosaico Dress is constructed by making granny squares in different sizes and assembling as you go. The neckline and armscyes are finished with a single-crochet trim.

The bodice has a shift fit that transitions into a dipped waistline and slight flare to accommodate the hips. A vertical slit is included at the back of the neckline so that the dress can be slipped on overhead; closures are attached along this vertical edge.

The pattern provides for the following style variations:

• Neckline: rounded square or V-neck
• Length: mini or longer
• Color: “Patch” or “Clover”

• Fingering weight yarn in a fiber with minimal stretch (samples shown were made with Circulo Anne 100% Mercerized Brazilian Virgin Cotton; 547yds/5.19oz (500m/147g))
• Minimum 1 eye hook closure, preferably 3 (3) 3 (4) 4

• sGS measures 3.5 in. (9 cm) corner-to-corner

The fabric is slightly stretchy so zero or some positive ease across the chest (samples shown are worn with 2 in. (5 cm) positive ease around the chest).
