Welcome! MoTap Electric Pop is a mosaic crochet with tapestry crochet “pops” pattern (MoTap). For this pattern, we will primarily use the Overlay Mosaic Crochet technique. I have included at the end of the pattern a chart for working the pattern flat for those who would like to make things like blankets, scarves, and shawls. Everything else in the pattern is worked using joined rounds.

Any yarn and hook will work, hook should be recommended size by yarn label, or one to two sizes smaller, depending on the look you’d like to achieve. For this pattern, choose three different colors, preferably of high contrast.

At this time, this pattern provides charts but not full written, row by row, instructions. I am considering adding row by row written instructions, and will update this description accordingly if/when I do. If you’ve already purchased the pattern and would like this feature added, please let me know. I’m trying to gauge how important this feature is to folks.

Sample bag was created with the following:
Red Heart Super Saver in Pretty N’ Pink (130 yds)
Red Heart Super Saver Ombre in Anthracite (275 yds)
Big Twist Value in Aqua (65 yds)
4.5mm Hook (Main)
3.5mm Hook (Detail)
Final bag measures 9”W x 10”H x 2.75”D
Crossbody strap measures 59”L

Approximate total yardage needed based on sample bag is 500 yards. It’s always good to have a bit extra.
