I went into my local mountain ski shop to drop off some hats (I sell hats there) and got wrapped up in all the hoodies, t-shirts, and more with the bright colors and bold graphics. I wanted to make a hat that fit even better with this scene- something that reminds me of vintage knit hats and helps me use up all the small bits of brightly colored yarn I have accumulated. Hence, this hat was born - a vintage-style chevron pattern that take up most of the body of the hat and gives off serious mountain vibes.

This can be a great stash busting pattern, using less than 15 yards of the 2 of the colors in the stripes. There are so many colorful outcomes possible. The pattern uses Super Bulky yarn. I have written the pattern for 3 sizes: child, adult m/l, and adult l/xl. Shown in Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick, Michael’s brand Cozy Wool, and Malabrigo Rasta.

Pattern includes suggestions for easily altering the sizing if needed.
