This pattern is for the car (with opening doors and convertible roof) as well as the mouse and its headscarf or hat!

The pattern contains lots of photos to help you every step of the way. It is written in English, using American crochet terms. The pattern has been independently tested prior to publication.

You will need:

Yarn of your choice. Yarn weight doesn’t really matter - the size of your project will simply turn out bigger or smaller! I used Patons Smoothie DK yarn for the majority of my project (this is quite a thick DK yarn so it is equivalent to aran or light worsted weight in other brands) and my finished car measures approximately 30cm long and 18cm tall. Please ensure that you use the same weight yarn to make both your car and the mouse & the accessories to ensure that they will fit.

You will need the following colours:
Main mouse colour - I used pale grey & white (approx. 23.5m of each colour).

Nose / ears / feet / tail colour - I used pale pink (approx. 26m to make 2 mice).

Cheese colour - I used dark yellow (approx. 4m to make 2 pieces).

Headscarf colour - I used dark pink (approx. 6.5m).

Hat colour - I used brown (approx. 4m).

Main Car Colour - I used blue (approx. 189m).

Seat / Base Colour - I used dark grey (approx. 183m).

Tyre Colour - I used black (approx. 52m).

Headlight & Picnic Rug Colour - I used pale yellow (approx. 18m).

Brake Light Colour - I used red (approx. 2.5m).

Indicator Light Colour - I used orange (approx. 3.5m).

Registration Plate Colours - I used white and dark yellow (approx. 2.5m of each colour).

Picnic Basket Colour - I used beige (approx. 30.5m).

Steering Wheel / Basket Strap Colour - I used brown (approx. 5.5m).

Please note = The amount of yarn used will vary according to yarn weight, hook size and stitch tension so these measurements are only a rough guide. The pattern refers to the colours that I used, however these can be substituted for colours of your choice.

You will also need:

A suitable size hook for the yarn you have chosen - I used a 4mm hook.

2 pairs of 6mm black safety eyes.

Some toy stuffing.

Some finer yarn or thread for adding the details to the mouse’s face, to the wheels and grill. I used black & pale grey.

‘7 count’ plastic canvas. I had a 26cm x 33cm sheet (that’s 10.25 x 13.5 inches) & I used less than 1 sheet. A higher count (that’s the number of holes per inch) will mean the plastic is more bendy so stick to 7 count if possible.

2 medium buttons for fastening the car doors (& a needle and thread with which to attach them).

Some press studs / snap fasteners for attaching the convertible roof and picnic basket. I used 7mm clear plastic press studs (sourced on amazon).

Other tools you will need are a tapestry needle, some scissors and some stitch markers.

You are welcome to sell the items that you make using this pattern, but please do not sell / share the pattern itself.
Thank you.
