Move Diagonally is an intermediate beginners hat, it has a twisted rib and simple 1x1 cables to achieve an effective design. It will be achieveable for a beginner wanting to learn a little as well.

As I prefer my hats a little looser the sizing reflects this, so if you prefer a firm fitting hat i would recommend using the stitch count for the size below but knitting to the correct length for your size.

You will need 100gm/200m of Nyx (or a similar substitute, it is a plump DK weight yarn) to knit all sizes.

Reccommended needles are 3.5mm and 4.5mm, or whatever needles you need to achieve gauge of 24st per 10cm in the cable pattern.
