Mug Rug Élégante is based on the Fisherman’s rib stitch pattern, with cable-less twists and slip stitches. It creates a beautiful, cushy braid design. To show off the design, use solid or tonal colored yarn. It’s best to choose a springy, non-fuzzy yarn.

Without fringe, the mug rug measures 5” x 5.5”. You can change the size by using a different yarn weight and needle size. This pattern could also be used for accent pockets, a horizonal border, or a vertical design down a sweater sleeve.
