About the pattern

This is a digital download with a beginner Tunisian crochet pattern with an intricate and elegant cross stitch pattern included.

If you want to make a luxurious housewarming gift, use high quality cotton yarn to create a set of gorgeous dishcloths or washcloths for your deserving friends or family. Or make some for your own home.

This dishcloth is meant to be displayed diagonally, as in the first image, hence the placement of the loop.

The cross stitch pattern is inspired by timeless embroidery and weaving designs from my native country, Romania.

You will get: two PDF files with full instructions to make the base and a cross stitch chart.

One file is formatted with columns for space-saving when printing, the other is formatted in a single column, with large text, so it is both a low vision and a mobile friendly PDF.

Size

The finished size when using the recommended yarn and hooks is 30 by 30 cm or 12 by 12” for the base dish cloth, plus border.
The embroidery takes up a 26 by 26 cm or 10 by 10” square.

Materials

• Yarn: size 3 or DK weight cotton at 125 meters/50 grams;
o MC: 80-100 g or 200-250 meters;
o CC: 20-30 g or 50-75 meters;
• Hooks: 5 mm Tunisian crochet hook (straight or with a cable), 3.5 mm regular crochet hook;
