I love brioche stitch and wanted to design a pattern that was all brioche, geared toward people who are doing this technique for the first time.
That way you can practice your brioche stitch without having to learn any other new techniques at the same time.

This shawl alternated between one-colour and two-colour brioche, and is a fun way to blend colours and create a reversible fabric that really highlights this beautiful stitch.

Since its a crescent-shape you can modify it to make it smaller (mine is quite long) and you can add more colours too if you like to use up some 4ply stash scraps.

Muriwai Shawl is named after the beautiful Muriwai Beach on the west coast of New Zealand.

Needles:
3.5 mm/US size 4 circular needle (150 cms long recommended)

Notions: Tapestry needle

Yarn:
Happy Go Knitty Aroha woollen spun merino/polwarth in 3 colours
Fingering weight/ 4 ply (or similar 4ply yarn)

Quantity needed: approx. 600 metres total
Colour 1: 195 metres
Colour 2: 265 metres
Colour 3: 140 metres
