Designed in an effort to make my brother a beanie for his birthday (because brother’s are too hard to buy for!), this is my take on the classic ribbed beanie.
The pom pom optional…though who doesn’t love a pom pom?

This is a simple pattern suitable for newer crocheters and just uses one 100g skein of aran or worsted weight yarn.

Advice is given on how to adjust for smaller sizes.

The construction is a little different in that the crown is worked in the round with the remainder of the beanie being worked around it in rows at right angles. This gives the nice smooth shape round the top with no gathering.
