My First Socks
Becoming a sock knitter is easier when you have a
good pattern as a basis. This pattern not only
teaches how to make a basic sock, but analyzes
fit from the top down and discusses simple ways
to “make a sock your own.” Perfect for classes,
included are a diagram labeling the parts of a
sock and a list of sock lengths according to shoe
size.
Skill level: Intermediate.
Sizes: Foot circumference in inches measured at
ball of foot: 6.5 (7.5, 8.5, 9.5, 10).
Gauge: 32 sts = 4”/10 cm (measured in
stockinette stitch knit in the round).
Yarn: Sock weight yarn, 250 (300, 325, 400,
500) yards, (18 wpi).
