Light and fluffy mohair skirt is the perfect choice for mid-season outfit. It’s warm enough to wear it in golden autumn, but breathable enough to have a spring walk in it too! It looks especially good in bright and vibrant colours.

The skirt consists of 2 layers: a short mini skirt (inner layer) made with a single strand of fingering merino yarn and a long mohair skirt (outer layer) made with double strand of mohair.

Each layer (mini and mohair) is first knitted separately, starting from the bottom, then they are joined together at the waistline with the additional round using both threads (merino + mohair). When a long waistband is made with single merino strand, the elastic band is put inside, waistband is folded and sewn.

To choose the right size, I recommend using the circumference of your hips or waist, whichever is larger and then regulate the waistband by choosing the right length of the elastic band.

With single strand of Fonty BB Merinos on 3.5 mm knitting needles, stockinette st in round: 24 st x 33 rnds.
