Suggested yarn; Red Heart With Love Metallic (4 medium)
Acrylic
3 skein – 4.5 oz./127 gms/200 yards/183 meters (Main Color)
3.5 mm (E) hook
Note: Different yarns can be used with appropriate hook
size resulting in different lengths of wire required
PolyFill Stuffing – to stuff body as you progress - 1 bag (12
oz./340 g)
Eyes (2) - Post Animal (slanted) Safety Eyes - Size 10mm to
14mm for 4 ply yarn – suggested - I used 16mm – made face

Tapestry Needle – for sewing
Stitch Markers
Wire – 16 gauge for wings – piece 35“ long (Wing tip along
spine, through shoulders at Front leg (top front point) - one
continuous piece
Stitches and Terms:
Chain (ch)
Slip Stitch (sl st)
Single Crochet (sc)
Space (sp)
Half Double Crochet (hdc)
Sc # = how many stitch spaces to sc in
Double Crochet (dc)
#Sc = how many sc in next stitch space
Increase (Inc) 2 stitches same stitch space
Both Loops (Both)
Front Loop Only (FLO)
Back Loop Only (BLO)
Decrease (Dec) - complete 2 stitch spaces as one – start
stitch in 2 stitch spaces, complete as 1 stitch reducing stitch
count by 1 stitch space
Short Row – complete number of stitches, slip stitch next
(place marker), turn. Work short row, sl st next (place marker) -
Will work st into same st sp as markers on last full row to
complete first full row. (if needed sc to get to correct starting
point)
Cluster - complete the number and type of stitch stated in 1
stitch space, drop loop, place hook in top of first stitch of
cluster, pick up loop and pull through
Front Loop Stitch – insert hook in next stitch space, y/o, pull
through loop (2 loops on hook) wrap yarn (approximately 2”
length) over thumb of hand holding hook, insert hook into
same stitch space, y/o pulling loop through stitch space and 2
loops on hook - completing sc stitch (unless stitch is otherwise
noted)
Back Loop Stitch – See OPTIONAL WINGS for description to
complete loop on back side of work
