Nanna

Nanna features a pattern inspired by a pair of traditional mittens from Porsanger, knitted by Nanna Guttorm in the 1960s. Nanna Guttorm was a skilled craftswoman from Ildskog in Porsanger, accomplished in sewing, weaving and knitting.

Nanna is worked from the bottom up with a roomy, oversized fit and wide sleeves. The body is worked in the round with steek stitches at the armholes and neckline. After cutting the steeks, stitches are picked up around the armholes for the sleeves.

Gauge: 26 stitches and 29 rounds = 10 cm
