Natsu Skirt
The Natsu Skirt is a breezy, flattering mini with a soft A-line shape and thoughtful shaping details. Worked top-down with a comfortable elastic waistband, it includes optional short rows for a better fit at the back, subtle darts at the hips, and gentle increases through the body for a clean, flared silhouette. The folded hem adds just enough weight to keep the skirt from riding up, while giving the bottom edge a polished finish.
Whether you pair it with a crisp tank top or an oversized tee, the Natsu Skirt is an easy warm-weather staple you’ll reach for again and again.
Construction
The Natsu Skirt is worked from the top down, beginning with a folded waistband that encloses an elastic band. Optional short row shaping adds subtle length to the back for a more comfortable fit. After a few centimeters worked even, dart shaping adds room through the hips. The skirt continues with gradual increases at the side markers to create a subtle flare. A folded hem finishes the skirt with clean structure and prevents curling.
Choosing a Size:
Choose your size based on your hip measurement, not your waist. Cotton and other plant-based yarns don’t have much stretch as animal fibers, so it’s important to have enough positive ease through the hips for comfort and movement. The waistband is adjustable with elastic and will be smaller than the waist measurement of the skirt, so even with some ease in the knitted fabric, the skirt will stay securely in place.
If you’re between sizes, look at the finished hip measurements and decide whether you’d prefer a tighter or more flared fit through the hips.
