A blanket for the seafaring baby: it features cable motifs of reef knots (square knots) for sweet oceanic dreams.

Construction
This pattern has 7 rows of cabling, each with 7 pattern repeats (alternating between creating a reef knot cable and just simple straight lines). If you desire a different sized blanket, simply change the number of cable blocks and/or the number of repeats. For example, a smaller version of this pattern would make a lovely cushion cover. Please be aware that the cables will sit flatter after blocking, which may change the size of the blanket.

Gauge
20 stitches and 30 rows stocking stitch =10 cm x 10 cm after blocking.

Sizing
Approx 90cm x 90cm after blocking.

Materials
6 balls of 100g 8ply wool: total 1000m. The example is made with 4 seasons Pure Wool Entwine in ‘teal’.
4mm 80cm circular needle (the blanket is worked flat so you can use straight needles, circular ones will just be more comfortable)
Cable needle
8 stitch markers
