Neji_Rib Cuff Down is the fifth pattern in my neji_rib series. The socks are worked cuff-down with a heel flap and gusset, and offer three toe options. As in the previous series, they are also reversible. When turned inside out, the socks show the combination of 1×1 ribbing and reverse stockinette stitch on the outside. Video tutorial links are included. See page 5 for the schematic.
Note: neji_rib: It is a coined word for “nejiri-me” and “rib”. Nejiri-me means twisted stitches in Japanese.

The pattern includes options below;
Toe: Standard Wedge Toe, Easy Toe (no grafting), Tabi-toe
Cuff Option: ruffle cuff

Finished foot circumference (unstretched): approx. 15.5 (16.5, 17.5, 19.5) cm / 6 (6½, 7, 7¾)”
Finished foot and leg length: You can knit to your desired length
Corresponds to an actual foot circumference: approx. 21 (22.5, 24, 25.5) cm / 8½ (9, 9½, 10¼)”
Recommended fit: 5.5 cm/2¼“ of negative ease at foot circumference, 1.5-2 cm/¾-1” of negative ease at sock sole length
Note: The sample is shown in size 2 for a 22.5 cm foot circumference with 6 cm/2½“ negative ease

33 sts & 44 rows = 10 cm / 4” in stockinette st
41-45 sts = 10 cm / 4” in twisted ribbing (unstretched)

ＮＥＥＤＬＥ ＆ ＴＯＯＬＳ
2–2.25 mm, 80 cm/32” circular needle: Choose the needle size that gives you the suggested gauge. Sample uses 2 mm needles.

Note: The instructions are written for the Magic Loop method using circular needles. You may substitute other types of needles suitable for sock knitting, but the pattern does not include specific guidance for using them.

neji_ribシリーズの5作目「neji_rib cuff down」は、履き口から編む靴下です。かかとはヒールフラップ＋ガセットタイプ、つま先は下記の3種類のオプションから選べます。本作もリバーシブル仕様で、裏返すとねじり目ではない1目ゴム編みと裏メリヤスの面を表側にして履くこともできます。動画解説リンク付き。靴下の略図は5ページ参照。
Note: neji_rib (ねじリブ)とは?：日本語の「ねじり目」と英語の「rib」を組み合わせた造語。日本語での一般的な名称は「ねじりゴム編み」です。

このパターンに含まれるオプション:
つま先: 定番のつま先、簡単なつま先 (メリヤスはぎいらず)、足袋型のつま先
履き口: フリルのカフ

完成サイズ・足囲: 約15.5 (16.5, 17.5, 19.5) cm (伸ばさずに計測)
完成サイズ・底とレッグの長さ: 好みの長さに調整可能
対応するヌード寸法・足囲: 約21 (22.5, 24, 25.5) cm
推奨のフィット寸法: 足囲で約5.5 cm、足長は1.5〜2cmをヌード寸法より小さく仕上げるとよい
Note: 作例はサイズ2（足囲22.5 cmに対してマイナス6cmフィットで着用）

Note: 必要な糸量はレッグやソールの長さにより増減します。

メリヤス編み: 33目 44段 = 10 cm
ねじり目のリブ: 41〜45目 = 10 cm (伸ばさずに計測)

2.0〜2.25mm、80 cm輪針: ゲージが合うサイズを選ぶこと
とじ針
ステッチマーカー× 2

Note: 作例は2.0mmを使用。このパターンはマジックループで編むことを前提に解説されています。靴下編みに適したものであれば、他のタイプの針でも代用可能ですが、針の使い方の解説は含まれません。
