Nessa’s the star of Blood Sisters, coming August 22, 2023. She’s a writer in a cold climate who needs to keep her shoulders warm and isn’t above a little - or a lot - of symbolism. Her shrug is highly textured with cables and twisted stitches, and finishes with folded-over stranded plaid cuffs. Nothing on the shawl is quite symmetrical, and that’s on purpose. It’s beautiful, but everything’s just a little … off.

I used around 700 yards of Washted in natural for my sample and about 160 yards each of Rios in black and Ravelry Red - the patten suggests my yardage plus 20% to make sure you don’t run out. The body of the shrug is knit first using a provisional cast-on and blocked flat. The cuffs are then picked up, knit, and hemmed so you don’t have to worry about catching the floats.
