Neuk is a rib-knit shawl that looks like a sailor collar from the back.
Begin from the back, knit in ribbing while working both ends with I-cord, then separate at the shoulders and shape each front with the German short row, decreasing stitches as it goes, finishing with three I-cords. The three I-cords are braided together and finished at a length that allows them to be tied at the front. In autumn, wear it over your shoulders when the air turns slightly chilly. In winter, it is recommended to choose colors that stand out beautifully against dark-colored outerwear.

Yarn
Falkland wool by Daruma (80% Falkland wool, 20% Baby alpaca / 50g 93 yards / 85 m), 4 balls. Sample color is #5 / dark grey. Or Aran weight yarn approx. 350 yards / 320 m.
The brown sample uses two strands of Rambouillet merino wool by Daruma (Rambouillet merino wool, 100% / 50g 158 yards / 144 m).

Note: Large rib-knitted items (finished items) stretch more than swatches. So when checking gauge with a small swatch, it is best to measure it by stretching slightly.

Neuk (ヌック) は, セーラーカラーのような後ろ姿になるリブ編みのショールです.
背中から始めて, 両端をI-cordにしながらリブで編み, 肩で左右に分けて引き返し編み, 目を減らしていき3本のI-cordで終えます. 外れることや肩からずれ落ちることを気にせずにいられるように, 前で結ぶこともできる長さに仕上げました. 秋にはちょっとの肌寒さに添えて, 冬にはダークな色合いのアウターの上に差し色で添えられるような色合いもお薦めです.
