✿ Three textures, three needle sizes, one sleepy newborn

The third edition of my Knit Newborn Bonnet Packs explores different textures with three different needle sizes, for Bonnets 7, 8 and 9. Each bonnet has its own unique look and is beautiful in any newborn photo session.

✨ What makes it work

• Three bonnets. Bonnets 7, 8 and 9 in one pattern.
• Photo ready. Made for newborn photo sessions.
• Small yardage. About 50 to 60 yds per bonnet.
• Three textures. Each bonnet uses a different needle size for a different fabric.
• Blocking matters. Blocking opens up the design and gives the right fit.

✂️ What you’ll need

• Yarn: Rios, Malabrigo (worsted), 50 to 60 yds per bonnet. Color shown: Plomo
• Needles: US 7 (4.5mm) for Bonnet 7 · US 8 (5.0mm) for Bonnet 8 · US 15 (10mm) for Bonnet 9. Straight, circular (28” cord or longer) or DPNs for working in the round.
• Tools: Stitch Marker · Sewing needle · Scissors · Cable needle · Row counter (if needed)

⭐ Good to know

• Size: Newborn, an average of 5 ½“ deep x 5 ½” high when blocked
• Safety: Bonnets should only be worn with supervision because of the yarn ties
• Skill level: Easy to Intermediate
• Gauge: Bonnet 7: 17 sts and 21 rows = 4” x 4” in stockinette; Bonnet 8: 18 sts and 23 rows = 4” x 4” in stockinette; Bonnet 9: 19 sts and 15 rows = 4” x 4” in pattern · gauge help
