The vest is cast-on along the back neck and shoulders and short rows are worked to shape first once shoulder and then the other. The back yoke is then worked down with armhole shaping (the smaller sizes have decreases, the bigger sizes have increases) before the back is placed on hold. The right front is picked up along the back right shoulder and shaping is also worked on the shoulder. Increases shape the side of the neck opening, then this is also placed on hold while the left front is worked. Once both fronts are complete, the rest of the neck opening is cast-on and the front yoke is worked down with shaping the same as the back yoke. On both the front and back yokes a stripe of colour B is worked every 3” / 7.5 cm, this is maintained also throughout the body too. Once the front and back yokes are complete, stitches are cast-on under the arm and the front and back is joined and the body is worked down in the round. Once the body is complete a mock cable hem is worked. The neck opening and armholes are also completed with the mock cable rib.
