The Nightfall Zip-Up is a DK-weight, zippered cardigan version of the Nightfall sweater originally designed by Maxim Cyr for Issue 19 of Laine Magazine. Inspired by the original chart, this design explores the technique of steeking, reimagined in a fresh colour palette while retaining the spirit of the original.

NOTES
The Nightfall Zip-Up cardigan is knitted seamlessly from the top-down, beginning with a structural double collar worked in the round. German Short Rows are worked flat to add height to the back before a steek is established at the centre front, allowing the colourwork yoke to be worked entirely in the round. Once the yoke is complete, sleeve stitches are placed on hold while the body is knitted to the hem. Finally, the sleeves are worked in the round to the cuffs. The steek is reinforced then cut to add i-cord edging and the zipper.
