Niles Poncho
The Niles Poncho is an intermediate knitting pattern that takes the traditional two rectangles construction of this shape of poncho and eliminates having to sew the two pieces together. This pattern does not involve any sewing or seaming, but it does still have seam ridges, creating a right and wrong side. The Niles Poncho comes in three sizes, small, medium, and large. Because the poncho is an open gauge knit, it has a lot of stretch. Keep this in mind when choosing your size.
This pattern includes written instructions, graphics, and a video tutorial for technique.
This poncho is designed to be knit with a DK - Light Worsted weight yarn. If you wish to make a sparkly poncho with a lighter weight yarn, consider sizing up.
The poncho is measured laid flat, so the neck measurement is half of the circumference. The shoulder measurement is where the two sides of the poncho will meet, this may not actually sit directly on your shoulder. The longest side measurement is the side that drapes from the opposite shoulder (the one with no seam) to the pointed end of the poncho.
