The Nobska baby blanket provides a satisfying and beautiful introduction to lacework and refined finishing. Lace directions are given in the text, traditional charts, and Stitch Maps, a new type of chart particularly suited to communicating lace patterns. Experienced knitters will enjoy the rhythms of the lace patterns, getting acquainted with Stitch Maps, and the lovely result. Nobska Beach is a sliver of sand on the edge of Woods Hole, MA, facing Vineyard Sound. Protected from the open ocean by Martha’s Vineyard, gentle waves lap the shore. Knitting and using the Nobska soothes like a day at this beach.

Before printing, look over the pattern first to determine what pages you want to print as there are various options. Written description/written instructions (pp. 2-4), Traditional lace charts in color (pp. 5-6) Stitch Maps (pp. 7-8).
