Inspiration:
Fiber. That’s is. Simple. I love this yarn.

I have moments where I sit by the computer and chart different stitch combinations, flowy, repetitions and geometric but feminine shapes. Then, the pattern sits…waiting …for the right moment…Choosing the right fiber is key to a successful design, I believe. Texture along with colour must be perfect. This delivers on those fronts.

I wanted a comfy, oversized sweater. I get easily overheated, so roomy, flowy, almost baggy was the goal. Fitted sleeves provide enough “structure” and feel very modern but at the same time cozy. Cozy is key. I wanted drape and shimmer-like illusion in the fiber. Yama yarn is a mix of wool and linen which drapes beautifully and “khaki” colourway has a bit of a silvery undertone that provides the iridescence I was looking for.
Blocking makes the garment “bloom”, it changes the feel of the knit in the most amazing way.
I would advise to choose contrasting colours, but earthy and organic.

Name derived from the home of Yama yarn.

Sizes: A, B, C, D, E, F

Bust (finished blocked garment) 46 (48, 50, 52, 54, 56) in; 117 (122, 127, 132, 137, 142) cm.
Oversized fit. Shown in pictures on a model with 36 in (91cm) bust. Model wearing size A.

Finished Measurements: Refer to schematics.

Gauge: It is common for stranded colorwork to be tighter than plain St st, so different needle sizes are suggested. It is recommended to swatch both in pattern and St st.
20 sts/ 22 rows in 4 in/10cm blocked swatch worked in St st on size 7 US (4.5mm) needles or in colorwork as charted on size 8 (5.0mm) needles.
Please take time to achieve gauge, adjust needle size as needed.

Yarn: Yama yarn, merino linen worsted mix (1 skein=197yards, 100g)
Colours/Amounts needed:
C1: Khaki 4, (4, 4, 4, 5,5) skeins
C2: Honey mustard 1, (1, 2, 2, 2, 2) skeins
C3: Sandstone 1, (1, 1, 1, 1, 1) skeins
C4: Henna 1, (1, 1, 1, 1, 1) skeins

Notions:
• Size 8 US (5.0 mm) 16-inch (40cm) circulars needles, increase cable length as sts increase,
• Size 7 US (4.5 mm) with a 40 in (102 cm ) cable,
• Size 7 US (4.5mm) DPN’s, alternatively use magic loop,
• stitch marker to denote BOR,
• Darning needle,
• Blocking materials.

Skills required:
• Stranded knitting from chart,
• Simple knit and purl sts,
• Simple decreases,
• Casting on mid work.

Notes about construction:
Knitted stranded, from top to bottom, in the round, in one piece. The increases are done using the twisted backward loop cast on to provide an additional decorative element.
