North Shore Cardigan is a simple minimalist cardigan with an unusual off-center front closure. It is worked in bulky yarn and is very fast to complete. The top of the cardigan should have about 5 cm/2 inches positive ease to fit comfortably over a t-shirt or dress. It has set in sleeves. There are two options for making the sleeves: top-down (by picking up stitches around the armhole and working short rows) and bottom-up (by working the sleeves flat starting at the cuff and then sewing the sleeves into place). It has A-line construction. The bottom is finished with side splits. Because of the top-down construction, the length of the cardigan can be easily adjusted to your personal preferences. Same goes for the top-down sleeves, their length can be easily adjusted, or even added on to it later, as the child grows. The bottom-up sleeve instructions have suggestions on how to lengthen or shorten the sleeves. To keep the cardigan simple, it is decorated with 1x1 ribbing details on the front and the sides. The North Shore Cardigan is a pleasure to knit and easy to wear. It looks great over a fancy dress and with jeans.
