Northern Star
This is a crochet Northern Star pattern, made with Anchor Artiste Metallic Fine Yarn, which is fine fingering type if yarn. The Star can be created with all sorts of metallic or other colors yarn, but the size will vary depending on the size of hook, type of yarn and gauge. I recommend using lace, fine fingering and fingering type of yarn, as if the star is made with thicker yarn, it will become too big.
If the Star is crocheted with hook size 1,5 mm, which I recommend the diameter is 9 cm, but it can vary depending on the gauge and the tension.
After the star is crocheted, it needs blocking after being soaked in Corn Starch, and then smeared with PVA glue, if it is going to be used as an ornament, so it stiffens in shape.
if it is going to be used as a clothing applique you can just wet it and block it, and then sew it in place and shape.
Materials needed:
1. Metallic yarn not even 1 skein, just left overs of any metallic yarn. Anchor Artiste Metallic Fine recommended.
2.Crochet Hook N 1,5 mm recommended.
3.Corn Starch and PVA glue if it needs stiffening.
