This pattern is made with crochet symbol chart and written Key Abbreviation pattern. Crochet stitches used: single crochet(US)/ Double Crochet(UK) sc/dc; scbl/dcbl; Hsc/Hdc; dc/trc; ss; ch st; sc/dc inc. ; sc/dc dec.

Size: 40cm/15,5 inch higth ; 23cm/9 inch width; 11cm/4,25 inch depth; 34cm/13,5 inch handle length

Gauge of floor, which is created with single crochet(US)/ Double Crochet(UK) from Back loop Stitches with“” Washi by Katia“ yarn , and crochet hook N 5, is 10cmx10cm square is 16sts x 13 rows.

Gauge of main body of the bag created with Herringbone Single Crochet(US)/ Herringbone Double Crochet(UK) Stitches with “Washi by Katia” yarn mixt together with “ Katia Star”, crochet hook N6 10cm x10 cm sqare 15sts x 9rows.
As Katia Star yarn has been discontinued , I suggest the best replacement for it“ Bergere Metalika” Gold yarn!!!
If that is not available in your country or delivery to you, another good replacement is “Anchor Metallic Embroidery Thread, but it is more costly.

Gauge of the handles created with Single Crochet(US) from back loop/ Double Crochet(UK) from back loop scbl/dcbl with “Washi by Katia” yarn, and crochet hook N 5 is 10cm x 10cm square 16sts x 10 rows

MATERIALS NEEDED:
5 skeins of “Washi” yarn by Katia, personal choice of colour
1 skein of Bergere Metalika Etoile (Gold) 25g, 650m ( If not available to you 8 skeins of “Anchor Metallic Embroidery Thread is a good replacement but more costly)
1 skein of “Anchor Artiste Metallic, Colour N 303
1.7m rope of 1cm diameter thickness. For thinner handles I suggest rope with thickness of 8mm diameter.

• Crochet hooks N 5, N 6, N 2, N 2.5
• 4 markers Not obligatory: Polyester lining fabric 50cm x 1.5m 1 zipper 18cm length 1 zipper 50cm length

You can not add the linning and the zipper closer. The bag is beautiful and very practical finished with the crochet part and the handles.

For the crochet lace decoration on the trim you can use crochet hook N 2 with “Anchor Artiste Metallic Fine yarn to achieve tighter lace or hook N 2.5 with the same yarn for looser lace which folds down over the trim. Both decorate beautifully the trim. It is a personal preference which way you like it.

For the body part of the bag and the floor I have used smaller crochet hooks than the recommended for the yarn Katia Washi in order to achieve tighter fabric, as in my opinion it is better for a bag to be tight and strong, and to be able to hold the numerous things a woman likes to carry with herself. ;)
