Overview

Worked bottom up, this hat has a 1x1 rib folded brim and plaid colorwork. I was inspired by windows in Oslo and wanted to have a classic, rustic beanie.

Specifics

Yarn:
DK weight yarn
I used Sandnes Garn in their double sunday base
for size 2, a total of 153 yds 140m were used

Needles:
US 5 3.75 mm, smaller rib needle, 16 inch circulars
US 7 4.5 mm, gauge needle 16 inch circulars and preferred method for knitting on small circumferences (I used 32 inch/81.2 cm needles for magic loop)

Gauge:
This is a DK weight project
13 sts by 14 sts in 2 inches with gauge needles, unblocked, over colorwork

Size:
Sample size is worn for 21.5 inch/54.6cm head circumference
1(2, 3) sizes
Size 1 is roughly 15 inches 38 cm unstretched circumference, unblocked)
Size 2 (sample size) is roughly 17 inches 43 cm unstretched circumference, unblocked)
Size 3 is roughly 19 inches 48 cm unstretched circumference, unblocked)
