About
These mittens are inspired by traditional Norwegian designs. They are worked in the round from the cuff upwards.
The thumb is shaped with increases, then placed on hold while the hand is completed. The top of the mitten and thumb are finished using Kitchener stitch.
The colourwork uses stranded knitting with a maximum float of 5 stitches. The edge pattern helps prevent fingers from getting caught in the floats. The colourwork creates a warm and durable fabric.

Reading the pattern
The mitten is primarily worked form a chart. The pink edge indicates the cast-on, and the crosses empty places. The Latvian braids are shown as alternating red and white colours, look up tutorial videos if needed.
Two written versions with instructions is also included. One has short instructions with abbreviations, the other is expanded with more details. All instructions correspond to the chart rows.
