Not-Your-Granny's Spring Shawl
Looking for an easy one-skein shawl pattern to use that beautiful skein of cotton or hand-dyed yarn? Look no further! The Not-Your-Granny’s Spring Shawl uses a 5.5 mm hook, fingering weight yarn, and simple granny stitches to make an airy and lightly drapey shawl you can whip up in an afternoon.
Gauge for this pattern is very open at four granny clusters and six rows per 4”. The finished shawl measures 56” wide by 25” deep at the middle point. Gauge is not super important, as you can easily add or subtract rows before adding the picot edging if your skein is more or less yardage.
In a cotton yarn, this shawl is perfect for transitional Spring weather. But it would look just as beautiful in that skein of hand-dyed sock wool from your favorite indie dyer.
