Overview
Nox Maria is a top down, triangle/crescent shaped shawl consisting of lace and two color stripes. It can be knit in two, three or four colors. Available in one size and uses between 550 and 700 yards (502-640m) of lace weight yarn. Shown in The Blue Brick Dyeworks Point Pelee Lace (80% Superwash Merino/10% Cashmere/10% Nylon) in Nox and Shibui Knits’ Tweed Silk Cloud in Deep Water. Miyuki 8/0 seed beads in Sparkle Pewter Lined Crystal add a bit of sparkle.

Beads
Beads are optional and, as charted, the shawl uses 570 beads.

Size
The shawl measures 70” x 30” (177 x 76cm) and uses between 550 and 700 yards (502-640m) of lace weight yarn in two, three or four colors.
Section 1 uses approximately 90 yards (82m).
Section 2 uses approximately 60 yards (54m) each of two colors, a total of approximately 120 yards (109m).
Section 3 uses approximately 225 yards (205m)
Section 4 uses approximately 120 yards (109m)
Binding off uses approximately 20 yards (18m).

Gauge
Gauge is not critical, but will affect the final dimensions and the amount of yarn used. It’s measured AFTER blocking in the lace pattern of Chart 2.

Difficulty
For intermediate to advanced knitters. Stitches used include garter stitch, stockinette and reverse stockinette, basic increases and decreases, twisted stitches, yarn over increases and beaded stitches.

Languages
Currently, the pattern is only available in English.
