Nox skirt
This is a crochet pattern only, not a finished product.
The Nox skirt is the perfect pleated mini skirt that enhances your curves and makes your hips (and ass) look GREAT. This skirt is named after the original badass: the Roman goddess of the night and darkness, Nox. To me this skirt is giving badass, biker, rock babe and I love styling it with black thigh high boots, a low cut black top and a metal chain.
Info:
- advanced beginner friendly
- made-to-measure
- takes me 4-5 days to make (where I spent all my time making it)
- this pattern uses US terminology and the metric system
- customize the fit of the skirt to your liking! Customize the length of the skirt and waistband. There’s also an option to make the skirt longer in the back if you’re worried it won’t cover your behind!
Materials:
- Yarn:
sport weight cotton. I used Drops safran in black (50 g = 160 m). I used 8 skeins for a size small/medium. It’s important you use the same fiber and yardage for the pleats to work (IF you really want to use thicker or thinner yarn just keep in mind, the pleats will be thinner/thicker and narrower/wider as well). I also used lace weight mohair/silk blend yarn (Drops kid-silk) for the middle and bottom border of my skirt. This is optional.
-
Crochet hooks: you’ll need 2-3 sizes. You’ll use different hook sizes to make the waistband fitted. Main hook: 1-1,5 mm larger than the one listed on the yarn label depending on how lacy you want the skirt (mine was 4,5 mm). Secondary one: 0,5 mm smaller than your main hook (mine: 4 mm). And you may need a third one if the waistband is still a little loose at this point (you’ll know when you make the skirt): 1 mm smaller than your main hook (mine: 3,5 mm).
-
Other materials: yarn needle, scissors, stitch markers (10), measuring tape and beads (optional).
Skills needed:
- chaining
- slip stitching
- single crochet
- double crochet
Right after purchasing, you will receive a downloadable PDF copy of this pattern and a lookbook.
