I always loved Oak bark in the snow. With its deep grooves, Oak bark catches snow between the ridges to create mesmerizing patterns. This cabled hat in bulky yarn works up quickly into a textured hat that looks a bit like Oak bark. I don’t see much snow in California, but those of you who do can knit up Oak Bark Cabled Hats and let the snow fall into the grooves.
