This hat was inspired by dwarven armor/architecture in the writings of J.R.R. Tolkien.

The various patterns in this hat/beret are easily achieved, either by using simple textured stitches or twisted stitches that do not require a cable needle.

Use your favorite fingering weight yarn, you can easily get 2 hats out of most sock yarn skeins.

Pattern Notes
Both hat & beret are worked in the round, beginning at the brim up towards the crown.
Follow either written directions or chart for textured patterns.

This is an intermediate pattern - you need to be able to work more than 1 stitch pattern at a time, increase and decrease.
