The Octave Shawl combines intarsia, elongated stitches, and contrasting yarn textures to create a lightweight shawl with gentle waves of faux lace. The shawl got its name because the stripes roughly approximate the soundwaves of musical notes an octave apart.

This pattern is charted and comes in one size, with the finished triangular shawl being 54”x38”x60”.

While one skein of Malabrigo sock should be more than enough for its portion of the shawl, I found that dividing two skeins into seven equal balls for intarsia to be much easier than dividing one skein into seven balls.
