A musical term indicating that eight voices or instruments work in harmony to create a musical piece, Octet is a cowl with one cable crossing, repeated eight times and placed on a lush backdrop of slipped stitch ribbing.
The Octet Cowl pattern provides instructions for reversible cabling, making this a great way to learn a new technique. The pattern can be worked by following the chart or the provided written directions.

Since the cowl uses a very small amount of the second ball of yarn, I am offering a free coordinating mitts pattern, Octet Mitts, to those who post finished projects, with photos to their notebooks. There is no need to send me a PM, but please feel free to let me know if you’d like to get started on your mitts as soon as possible.
